Timothy A. Zercher: Alright, well thank you so much for joining us, Rod. We appreciate you taking time out of your day. I know you've got a lot of different pots in the fire so to speak, so we appreciate you hopping on today.
Rod: I'm very thankful for the opportunity, I really am.
00:11
Timothy A. Zercher: Absolutely, absolutely. Let's jump right into some of our questions.
Q1: You have built True Psychiatry Network on the belief that emotions are signals, not symptoms. How has that philosophy kind of reshaped your approach to care?
Rod: Yeah, think the approach to care came first and then I realized there was something off with modern psychiatry...
03:06
Timothy A. Zercher: Absolutely, absolutely. Less of emotions of the problem and much more so they're indicating something that we should actually address.
Rod: Exactly, and we don't have any reasons from a scientific perspective to think otherwise...
03:58
Timothy A. Zercher: So what are some of the things that you have learned from launching this network? What are some of the insights you've had from kind of challenging the traditional psychiatry model?
Rod: Yeah, well, second before we started talking, I said I lost a lot of friends in the field. That's one thing that I didn't anticipate...
07:07
Timothy A. Zercher: Absolutely. And that actually leads into another question. I am a marketing and advertising CEO, right? So my thought is always about marketing and positioning for the broader market. How does your team go about gaining new clients? And what is working well for you right now?
Rod: It has been an uphill battle...
10:39
Timothy A. Zercher: Of course, I mean who isn’t right if we're trying to do big things and we have to be a dreamer Absolutely. So what have you found is the hardest part of growing your organization?
Rod: There you have it. There you have it...
13:22
Timothy A. Zercher: Yeah. Yeah. Because if it isn't, then what are we doing here?
Rod: It's a philosophical matter, right? I think my excuse is when people say, okay, so what is it that you do? And I say, well, our main value is movement, right? That's our main value...
15:12
Timothy A. Zercher: Well, perfect. Thank you so much, Rod, for joining us. Thank you for sharing some of your insights. And thank you for the work that you're doing. I think you are changing lives and you are helping.
Rod: I appreciate it and again, I appreciate the opportunity. I really do. Thanks a lot.
